2. Visit with Santiago Lerma, legislative aid to Supervisor Ronen. Subject: Graffiti
and illegal activity on Valencia at 16th Street and the BART Stations. We had an
extensive discussion with Santiago who confirmed that there would be a new
moratorium on selling goods at both BART Stations. In addition, he mentioned
that his office was working with the DPW and Mission Police Station to reduce
graffiti, even though we mentioned that we haven’t seen any progress. He also
mentioned that he’d be leaving his position at Supervisor Ronen’s office, wouldn’t
be running for supervisor, and didn’t endorse anyone else.

3. Report on meeting for homeless housing on 16th & Mission: Donna, Aaron,
and Barbara reported that they went to a public meeting about the proposed
temporary housing for the homeless at 16th & Mission. They said that the meeting
was packed with homeless activists who shouted down any opposition and
Supervisor Ronen, who was there, gave her support. They also said that they felt
that it was a done deal when they arrived.

4. Future MDNA Leadership – Peter and Donna agreed to continue in their
positions on a limited basis with meetings scheduled for the second Wednesday of
February, June, September, and November 2024. Aaron Phillips was elected
Secretary-Treasurer.
